Head north out of the lively streets of Cape Town into the quiet and vast arid countryside of Namibia. You’ll start with a visit to the majestic Cederberg Mountains and the Orange River (Gariep), also known as the “river of abundance.”
See Namaqualand, renowned for its seasonal wildflower displays that paint the landscape in vibrant colors. Then, you’ll head over the Namibian border and trek along the rim of the Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon on earth. Witness the enchanting Quiver Tree Forest and the Giants Playground.
Next, you’re off to Naukluft National Park, which offers picturesque dunes and expansive landscapes – a photographer’s dream. Rise and shine for an early start to view the desert sunrise—a truly mesmerizing spectacle.
Dive deeper into the desert with a walking tour of Deadvlei and Sesriem Canyon. You’ll end off your trip crossing the Tropic of Capricorn en route to Swakopmund, the desert’s adventure capital. Get ready for an adrenaline-filled experience in this vibrant coastal town.
This tour is part of a longer trip that continues to Windhoek and then on to Victoria Falls.

Accommodation
Enjoy comfortable lodge accommodation.
On this tour, you will sleep at comfortable 2-3 star lodges. In some areas we use permanent safari tents which are equipped with beds. Rooms usually offer en-suite bathrooms and are twin share. If you are a solo traveler (or odd number traveller) then you will need to book a single room as sharing with other guests is not an option.
Remember to bring your own towel, as it may not always be provided.
If your trip visits East Africa, be prepared for more rustic accommodations compared to Southern Africa. You might find yourself going without hot showers, sharing bathrooms, spending long hours on the road, and needing to buy your own drinking water. Despite these challenges, the charm of the local people and the stunning natural beauty, make it all worthwhile.
