You will be provided with a 2-person dome canvas tent as well as a foam mattress. Note that you will need to bring your own sleeping bag, pillow and towel.
The tents come with self-supporting poles, so there’s no need to wrestle with extra pegs. They also come with a flysheet in case of rain and have built-in mosquito nets. Your guide will give you a quick demo on setting up and taking down your tent on the first day of the tour. It’s super easy!
The tents are twin share so if you are a solo traveler you will share a tent with another guest of the same gender. You do have the option to book a single tent at an additional cost.
The campsites have well-maintained ablutions with decent toilet and shower facilities. Hot water may be a luxury in some locations especially in East Africa. Keep in mind that in some cases we go off the beaten track and stay at bush camps, where facilities are limited or non-existent.
The group will occasionally stay in lodges when the tour reaches major cities, allowing you to enjoy the comfort of a bed for the evening.
You will also have the chance to upgrade from camping to accommodation while you are on the tour. This is subject to availability and can be booked directly with the accommodation establishment on arrival.
